Follow the adventure to solve the clues and crack the mystery
Kentville – Dr. Plasma’s Time Machine. Enjoy this 1-2 hour walk through Kentville, following directions to solve the mystery and find all the missing pieces of the time machine.
Wolfville – Acadian Treasure Hunt. Take this 1-2 hour walk around Wolfville, following directions to find out where the treasure is buried.
Berwick – Who stole the prize apples? Take this 1-2 hour guided walk through Berwick to follow the clues, eliminating suspects from your list to find out who stole Sam Chute’s prize apples!
Acadia University– Before Isaac Chipman left for his fatal sea voyage, he left gold hidden somewhere safely on campus. Take this 1-2 hour guided walk through campus completing a word search. The left over letters tell you where the gold is hidden. You do not need to be familiar with the campus to play this game.
Windsor – It’s just before the first-ever hockey game in 1875 and someone has stolen your team’s banner. Take this 1-2 hour guided scavenger hunt through Windsor, eliminating suspects from your list to find who has stolen the hockey banner before game time.
Port Williams – Right before Albert Chase died, he left an encrypted message for the secret formula for a revolutionary fertilizer. Follow the clues, solve the word search to find the hidden ingredients. Learn about the history of Port Williams and agriculture as you go. This is a 1-2 hour guided walk, 3km.
Digby – During the grand opening of the Pines Hotel, a thief steals an artifact from one of the guests and hides it in the hotel. Follow the clues and solve this hidden code mystery to find out what exactly was stolen and in what room it was hidden! This is a 1.5 hour guided walk through the town of Digby.
Annapolis Royal – You are a guard at Fort Anne, one of the most important strongholds in Britain’s defences against the French forces which threaten Nova Scotia. You are summoned by the Captain of the Guard who orders you to Hog Island to use his map to find his lost sword. This is a 1.5 hour self-guided walk through the town of Annapolis Royal.
How to Play TrailQuest
You will be given a code book that outlines the story along with a series of clues and directions that will take you on a walking adventure through a town in the Annapolis Valley.
You do not need a map to play the game, as all directions are given directly in the clues. You will not need to enter any private property or pay any admission fees, so the game can be played any day, any time of the year! All the clues are part of the permanent structures of the town.

When you have cracked the code, email in your answer for your chance to win the monthly prize!
Email the final answer to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your individual identification number that was emailed to you along with your booklet.
Everyone with a correct answer will be entered into the prize draw for that season.

Time and Location
The trail covers approximately 2 km of terrain and takes between 1 – 2 hours to complete, depending on how fast you walk, and how much time you take to enjoy the area. The trails are accessible for those with mobility issues.
This game is appropriate for anyone aged 6+ as long as they are able to walk the distance. Although children may not understand the clues, they will still have fun searching for the answers.

Printing your Code Book
There are several ways to print your code book.
- Mobile version – request a file that can be read on your mobile. You will still need to print the final page to record your answers, but the rest can be read and followed on your mobile.
- Print single-sided – Print the 5 sheets and assemble it as a booklet. Need help figuring out how to put it together? Watch our instructional video.
- Print Double-Sided – If your printer supports automatic printing on both sides, under Settings, change Print One Sided to Print on Both Sides. Choose the option Flip pages on short edge to avoid printing the second side of each sheet upside down.
