One of the thing I remember as teenagers and starting to shave our legs was the number of people (including myself) who had nicks and cuts from razors. I remember one girl with a gouge all the way up the front of her leg!

Then there was Nair. Remember that? It was pink, and it stunk to high heaven, and it didn’t work.

So I tested the VEET Natural Inspirations Hair Removal Cream!
I should mention that I have very sensitive skin and will easily break into hives at the first sign of a new product. So, when I got a tube of Veet Natural Inspirations Hair Removal Cream, I was cautious.

I read the product information. It is made for sensitive skin and is enriched with grape seed oil and avocado oil. I was hopeful.

The directions said to leave the product on your legs (patted on, not rubbed in) for 5-10 minutes. There was no strong odour, either! I set the egg timer, sat on the edge of the tub, and enjoyed a few minutes of peace and quiet reading my book.

Upon the buzz, I gently tested a patch, as per the directions, by rubbing it off. Lo and behold – it worked! I rinsed my legs and they were smooth. They did not react to the product!

Best of all, there were no nicks and cuts, and my legs didn’t dry out from using soap and a razor!

We Tested the Veet Natural Inspirations Sugar Wax:
Here’s what the package says: Veet® Natural Inspirations Sugar Wax leaves skin beautifully moisturized, silky smooth and stubble free for up to 28 days. Formulated with 100 per cent naturally sourced ingredients, the Sensitive Formula is enriched with argan oil and contains sugar cane, water and potato starch.

Also available in a Normal & Dry Skin variation, this formula is enriched with essential oils known for their moisturizing properties, including natural vanilla oil.

To test this product, I enlisted the help of my sister, Sharon. Here’s what she had to say:

I loved this product.

Reasons:
– The list of ingredients is all stuff I recognize, so it is nice to know I am not coating myself in toxins.
– Comes with a handy spatula which is good for stirring, but also tells you very clearly if the wax is too hot to use with a big “NO!” No mistaking the results of this test.
– Strips are reusable. Just wash and dry. Hooray for less waste!

I heated up the wax in the microwave a little too long. But that was OK as it gave me time to run to the drivethru and get a McFlurry while I waited for the wax to cool. Nothing like a nice cold ice-cream while waxing. It was very easy to apply. I only did my right leg so I could compare it to my left leg which I shaved.

Of course it hurt a bit, but waxing does. I love how the instructions tell you to BE BRAVE!

One week later I have shaved my left leg three times, and I am still waiting for the waxed-off hair to reappear. I might be waiting a while.

The downside is that I had to put aside a good chunk of time to get this done. Not easy when looking after two little kids during the day and stuff to get done in the evenings after they go to bed. But it does cut down on how long it takes me to shower in the morning. Nice to have silky smooth legs!

Overall:
We really enjoyed using this product, and will continue to use it – especially for the rest of the summer! I especially would recommend it to teenaged girls who are just starting out and learning to shave their legs! Avoid all those problems that we had when we were younger!
