Family Night with Greco Pizza

There is something different about hanging out with family that you can’t find anywhere else.

With family, you can completely be yourself, you can wear your pajamas to dinner (even the adults) and you don’t have to set the table or prepare a fancy meal. It’s enough to just be together.

My brother and his family live 400m away. Literally. We looked it up on Google maps tonight.

There is however, a giant ravine between us, making it longer to travel there. We always joke that we need a zipline between our houses, and we could be there within 30 seconds.

Although we live so close, we do not get together as often as we should. We’re always busy, running around with kids, or frankly, just tired.

There really should be no excuse, and we need to remember that family time doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s just about being together.

Which is why, we decided to kick start our March Break with family time.

Scarlett and Digby are literally best friends. So, any time we can get the two of them together, everyone is happy.

We started off with a walk in the ravine (that separates our houses) to get some fresh air, and to give our dogs a run.

The path was a bit tricky with all the ice, but we made it without too many casualties.

After that, we had well-worked up an appetite.

Instead of worrying who was going to cook, or about what to serve that everyone would eat, we decided to order from Greco, New Minas.

To meet everyone’s tastes, we got 2 XL pizzas.

1/2 Hawaiian/ 1/2 works

1/2 cheese/ 1/2 pepperoni

And, no meal is complete without garlic fingers and donair sauce!

Overall, there were a lot of very happy smiles.

The pizza was delicious, but I think one of the best parts was the slightly flavoured crusts that may have been garlic Parmesan! It was so good and made the pizza complete!

One thing we know is that we will be ordering from here many more times in the future!

There are four Greco locations in the Annapolis Valley: Bishopville, Middleton, Greenwood and New Minas.

The New Minas location has changed to 8927 Commercial Street, in the strip mall across from the movie theatre.

What we’ve discovered is that Family Night does not need to be complicated. If you make it simple, it means you are more apt to do it again, soon, which is exactly what we plan on doing.
