New Ross Lion’s Park and Walking Trail

This is a lovely little trail in the community of New Ross that connects with Ross Farm Museum. 

Here’s what the website says: 

Available for public use, this park is ideally located on route 12 and houses a picnic area, and walking trail which connects with the Ross Farm Museum.  While strolling through the woods this trail showcases our beautiful evergreens, and ends with a wonderful meadow view.  The path continues to course along Lake Lawson with rest stops along the way to have a snack or enjoy the views.

The Trail

We started at the Lions park.

It is really well maintained with several benches and many stopping points with views over a meadow, and then the lake, and then boardwalks and bridges through gorgeous old-growth forest and then connects right into the nature trail that the farm wagon ride goes around at Ross Farm.

As the trail goes through the farm the kids liked to stop to see the sheep as we went by. 

As you loop back up to the main building, there is a path off to the right that hooks back up with the trail. 

There is a sign about feeling free to walk through the farm but they rely on the honour system that if you go into the buildings you should go pay.

Better yet, pay admission and spend some time exploring this great historical farm.

The trail took us about 45 minutes to walk and is about 2km.

The path is suitable for a rugged-stroller and is toddler friendly. Dogs are welcome on a leash. 

How to Get There

The Lion’s Park is located on Route 12 before you get to Ross Farm Museum. 

While You’re in the Area

Vittles family restaurant is just about across the street from the park, so stop in and check it out!
