Indoor Pools and Lessons

Acadia University schedule for swimming lessons and family swim times.

Fundy YMCA in Cornwallis has a full pool schedule.

Greenwood Fitness Centre – for $6 per person you can get a day pass to the whole facility. Waterslide on site and is available for use during casual swimming times. Greenwood also offers swimming lessons.

Municipality of the County of Kings schedules and swimming lessons. They have parent-tot and family swim times. These are all offered at the Waterville pool at the Correctional Centre.

Windsor Super 8 – This motel off Highway 101 in Windsor has an indoor waterslide. For $8 per person, the general public can use the pool and slide for 2 hours. Phone 1-902-792-8888 before you go to make sure there is an availability. Bring your own towels. There is no height restriction for the waterslide. Children under 5 are free. $68 for a ten-punch family pass! (subject to change)

Annapolis Royal Community Pool

Berwick Recreation offers outdoor swimming lessons in the summer months.

Bridgetown Centennial Pool is a 4-lane, 25 yard pool. It is open each summer for public swim, swim lessons, aqua fitness, and for the use of the swim team.

Greenwood – has an outdoor pool and a wading/splash pool for tots.

Hants Acquatic Centre Pool is located in Windsor. It is a heated pool.

Hantsport Pool

Kentville Pool has open swim times all summer.

Klahanie Kamping in Aylesford has a pool that is open to the public. The Lions Club runs summer swimming lessons here.

Lawrencetown Pool

Raven Haven Beachside Family Park – located in Annapolis County at Sandy Bottom Lake, this is a campsite and public beach.

Splash Pads

Hantsport – the playground at the Hantsport Community Centre also has a splash pad.

Kingston – there is a splash pad at the Jellystone Campground in Kingston. Day passes are available

Middleton – the splash pad is located in Centennial Park

New Minas – The splash pad should be opened in Lockhart & Ryan Park in New Minas in August 2015.

Dolphins Swim Club meet in Greenwood.

Middleton Missiles Swim Team: 825-3851

Kentville Marlins Swim Team– The team  offers children and youth ages 5 to 18 access to skill development, one-on-one training and a chance to participate in swimming events.

Windsor Bluefins are a swimming team based out of Windsor.

Wolfville Tritons Swimming – Swimmers aged 6 and older can develop to their maximum potential as swimmers will learn swimming skills and can participate in swimming competitions.

Lake/Beach Swimming

Aylesford Lake Beach – The public beach is fully accessible parking, pathways, picnic areas, boardwalk, canteen and toilets.

Evangeline Beach – has stunning views of Blomidon Ridge. Take a walk at low tide or go for a swim at high tide. MAP

Kingsport Beach – Red sedimentary cliffs carved by continuous erosion rise from the beaches to the east. The dramatic 12 metre tides produce very large sand and mud flats at low tide.

Lumsden Pond Provincial Park is adjacent to the dam and offers areas to picnic and swim. MAP

Resevoir Park, Wolfville – open year round from 9 a.m. to dusk and has an unsupervised pond side beach in it. There is also a scenic walking trail there with panoramic views of Cape Blomidon and the Minas Basin plus lots of space to relax and have your picnic. MAP

Silver Lake Beach – Also known locally as Lakeville Lake, this small lake is a popular spot for swimming, picnics and fishing. MAP

Three Pools/Hell’s Gate – popular swimming hole in White Rock. Take Deep Hollow road from New Minas to White Rock, turn left onto White Rock road, continue to Benjamin Bridge and turn right on Black River road, turn right again after crossing the Gaspereau River, and follow this road to a small graveyard at the top of a ridge, park by the graveyard.

White Rock Bridge – follow Deep Hollow Road through the intersection in White Rock and you’ll come across the bridge on the left hand side. You can park and walk down to the water just past the bridge.
